The Role

Role Brief

The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC Engineering and be aligned to a new and exciting project.

You will be responsible for the development, commissioning and support of automation and control systems. He/she will also be responsible for automation and control systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing and start-up assistance.

Skills Brief

  • The candidate must have experience on PLC programming with Siemens & Allen Bradley
  • Technical expertise to maintain, develop, troubleshoot and validate the following systems in a compliant manner. Proven experience in PLC logic & programming with Allen Bradley  and Siemens (Step7)
  • Experienced with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and Vision Systems in the manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the validation of automated processes for medical devices or pharmaceuticals
  • Document generation experience in a GMP environment is essential
  • Experience in FAT, SAT, commissioning & validation of high-speed automation equipment.
  • Experience with machine connectivity (via Kepware etc) is a plus
  • Start up support experience

Person Brief

Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in mechatronics, software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong problem skills.

The role is based in Northeast of Ireland. Therefore, you must live within a reasonable commutable distance of the site. I.e., Louth, Monaghan, Cavan
